Born in Hokkaido, Koichi has built his career at the intersection of entrepreneurship and Japanese craft — moving from Tokyo's apparel industry through IT startups before founding Waka Matcha.
He oversees every step of the operation, from cultivation and processing in Nara to marketing and global distribution.
Koichi's mission is to share Japan's matcha tradition with the world.
Born in Okinawa, Yu has built her career bridging Japan and the United States. In 2007 she founded a New York–based consulting firm specializing in US market research, business advisory, and cultural event production.
Based between Tokyo and New York, she leads the Japan partnership and oversees brand strategy for Waka Matcha.
Yu holds a BA from Hosei University in Tokyo and a BA from NYU.
Based in New York, David leads wholesale, marketing, and brand for Waka Matcha in international markets. He has co-founded multiple companies across consumer brands, renewable energy, and entertainment, with 20+ years of experience structuring international ventures and cross-border partnerships.
David holds an MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business and a BA from UCLA.
